Very attractive gilt bronze and malachite veneered curved mantel clock with scrolls and rocailles in the Baroque style,19th century France. On top there are two gilt bronze figures seated on a sofa, a lady reading to her son. Both are wearing 18th century costume as a reference to the Baroque period. White enamel dial with roman numerals, eight day duration clockwork with strike on the hour. On the backside is a mark that is possibly the name of the maker: C.Budtz
